Add in a 1TB internal HDD takes it over £389. Then add in Freesat's cut for their "branding" and you are likely into £400+. Unless there was significant volume allowing a price cut I reckon that would kill it in the UK market. Interesting to see what ARRIS come up with and at what price.

Interesting to see what ARRIS come up with and at what price.You can buy it in Germany for £319.00. Although it's call 4-Tune it only appears to have two tuners. The Arris needs at least 3 - 4 to match the FVP-5000T recording capability.

I might well be in the minority but I don't record enough TV to warrant more than 2 tuners. With BBC "watch from start" and all the OD players, plus streaming services, I'm more than catered for. I would settle for an ARRIS box which is well designed, a very good intuitive to use UI, reliable and bug-free. OH and don't launch it at £300 and then a year later cut the price substantially. In short, not the HDR1000S.
