I was given a broken HDR FOX T2 by a relative and was able to diagnose the hard drive as faulty by fitting the old 320GB drive from my Foxsat HDR (upgraded to 1TB years ago) and it now works fine.
However, as I was taking it apart to replace the hard drive with the test drive, I noticed that five out of seven of the fan blades had broken off and were loose inside the unit.
Has anyone got any suggestions where I could get a replacement fan ?
And, if I was able to get a generic fan, has anybody got any idea of the wiring colour codes for the three fan wires to ensure I connect it up to the motherboard the correct way ?
The broken fan is 50mm x 50mm and 15mm thick.
It has three wires going to it (Black, Red and White).
It is marked:
H35755-58
HUM
12 V DC
0.04 A
1Y23V J1
Alternately, if I replaced the hard drive with a 1TB SSD which are meant to run much cooler, do you think there would be any need to even bother replacing the fan then I could just remove the broken fan and leave it fanless ?
