Hi everyone. This is my first post. I have had Humax boxes for years. The current one is failing now: missing recordings etc. I want to get a new one but don't know which to get. Which is the most reliable? I only really need a 500. Grateful for any tips

    The 1800T seems pretty good.

I bought one a few years ago and joined this forum so that I could get help if needed.

I was a bit disappointed to see how few questions were asked about it but have come to the conclusion that the reason for this is that the machines give very few problems.

    Have not had any problems.

Hi Debbie, If your on Freeview, Humax only has 1 Box still in production.
    That is the Aura.
Which, even after several years has a whole load of problems.
Mainly the tuners are extremely sensitive, which gives a Picture break up problem.
There is a whole load of other problems, which Humax seems to have given up on.
used to swear by Humax up until the troublesome Aura.
Now I've switched to a much better Freeview Play recorder.
May I suggest you try the Manhattan T4R.We are very happy with our 2 TB model.
Finally. The only down side is there are only 2 Tuners, not 3 on the Aura.
However, everything else on it is so superior to the Aura.
Until Humax gets their act together on a new model that actually works were staying with our Manhattan. It's cheaper to buy, and cheaper to run.
The T4R really is a very good machine. That doesn't suffer with picture break up.
Manhattan are still installing updates for it. The latest one was 5th February.
Good Luck. I wish you well with your Quest.
