Other dongles that work are those that have the ralink RT3070 chipset. For a lot of these dongles ebay is a lot cheaper and in my experience a lot easier to get both the price and the cost of P&P back if the seller has miss-described.
The compatible dongles do vary a lot both in ability to pick up distant wifi signals and how irritating the led light is.
This one has no annoyingly bright flashing light, can be bought relatively cheaply and although it has an antenna I probably rank its ability to pick up a signal as middling.

It is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. If there is not much room at the back of your HDR-FOX T2 then you may need to use a short quality USB cable to reposition it, but that could also help you place it for good reception.
