Wiping over older recordings

Hi wondered if anyone can help please. My humax has decided to recorded over older recordings and makes duplicates. Some things do record properly but other don't. Really annoying! Once it has wiped over something it keeps the original programmes name.

Tell us which Humax you have please? I would guess it is a 9200, 9150 or 9300. If it is the bad news is that this is a well known fault and what will happen next is that the list of recordings will be deleted. The fix is to format the hard drive from the HDD Control menu item in the (I think) Record menu.
