Using -p to put the files back I get the message "Oldname _RECORD_LIST_ does not exist" as the copy function starts, the same as this post:

I don't know about that error specifically but there is a known bug that will prevent recordings being replaced on the 9300/9150 although it does work on the 9200. I don't really understand why you formatted when you had a consistent file system?

I forgot to mention that with the HDD back in the PVR I couldn't see any recordings in the recording list.

So I finally got the HDD back in the PVR after Easter hols.

It's now all working and the recordings are visible and playable.

So forgot to say - whatever issues exist with putting files back on a 9300T didn't apply here.
