There are no extensions to Busybox in 3c - try chown --help

I think that perhaps the problem is the memory stick - if you can get just the 3c hdf to flash - END diaplayed then wait for shutdown and reboot - then try and copy both the installers for the packages you want and ALL the unistallers to the stick.

Then insert the stick but do not press anything - the files should be processed and the HDR should reboot - check the files have been deleted.

After cleaning up the memory stick I tried again, with just the .hdf file, and this time it worked.

As you suggested I waited, after END appeared, for the box to reboot. After about 10 mins it had not so I pressed Standby and when it restarted I could SSH in and see that a new version of Busybox had loaded and web access with Mongoose was possible.

Maybe my terminology was inaccurate in my first post. What I meant by extensions should maybe have been functions. The previous Busybox image did not have the chmod function implemented whereas the 3c does, as well as several other 'new' functions.

Thank you for your help. You reassured me that I was not doing something fundamentally wrong and maybe my waiting longer following END allowed the load to complete even if the box did not reboot.

Now I'll try loading the MediaTomb - from a clean memory stick.

You need to post much more - what are you seeing this in, what servers are you using on the hdr? samba, one of the two ftp servers?

I have never set-up anything on the HDR, as I just accessed it previously to copy some video files back and forth using Windows (7) Explorer.
I also copy files from the internal HDD to the USB HDD, again using Win Explorer. This enables me to copy whole folders, rather than individual files if I do it from within the Foxsat itself. However, when I try to delete the original folder (on the internal Foxsat HDD) is when I get the no permission message!
Have uploaded a screen shot of the Foxsat (from Filezilla).

That is an unusual structure - those setup folders should no longer exist.
What version of raydon's bundle did you install (current version is 3c).

Can you display the permissions for /media, /media/Video and /opt please (select the folder and right mouse button click).

I would mention that if you delete programs remotly you need to delete all three files (.ts .mnt and .nts) Plus any thumnails with the same name but prefixed by a dot.
