See my post above on telnet. I'm presuming you are either on Win XP, or have used the instructions to enable telnet on Win 7.

In the CMD window, instead of ping [foxsatipaddress] do telnet [foxsatipaddress] when you have got the next line, do ps and enter, this will give you a list of processes running and their state. You are looking for twonkymedia (I think it is) and an "S".

Have you tried turning off your other twonky server on the network to see if that has any effect?

Ok I have got telnet to work on foxsat and twonky is running. I have stopped the other Twonky to no effect. I Will try a reinstall.

Now I have done a reinstall - no difference but.... I can get in on a macbook no problem!!! An expensive solution - I do not understand.

ahhh - no I can not - just got in on the ipaddress. Is there any way 9000 is not the port?

I'm a bit confused by your descriptions now.

You can see the Foxsat-HDR in Windows Explorer and all its files, and you can ftp into it successfully too?

Telnet ps shows that Twonky is running OK.

You can log in to twonky on the ipaddress?

So you can do http://192.168.1.2:9000/webbrowse (substitute your own foxsat's ipaddress) and see the files? Also can you get to the /config page the similar way? If so, this is correct, you won't get in on http://Foxsat-HDR/webbrowse etc., etc., if that what you are trying to do.

Not quite sure, now, what you are trying to do, and what exactly is failing.

Have you got a DNLA/uPnP client on your PC and trying to play the Foxsat files from here?

Have you tried XBMC, using the following to find the Foxsat and its video files - On Opening XBMC, Choose Videos | Add Source | Browse | UPnP Devices | Humax HDR | rootvideo | allvideos | OK | OK ??

I have installed the firmware and also Mediatomb, which all works brilliant, however I want to check the start-up options.

So I HTTP'd into http://Foxsat-HDR:49152, but I cannot seem to see where to check the options. I can see all the folders, including MediaTomb and Config, what next ?

Thanks for that..shall have a look.

I hasten to add, it's brilliant piece of code and what I like really well is that a hot swap usb can do the job...excellent.

I am looking for some ideas.

I have had the server bundle dtd 02/02/2011 running OK since March(telnet, FTP, Samba) but when I try to load Release3c I can no longer access my Humax by any means.

I have been able to revert to the previous bundle and manually install Dropbear, from the 3c bundle, but cannot run chown as I guess that is a new extension to Busybox in 3c. My box firmware is 1.00.15.

Maybe a bit more info would be helpful. When loading the 3c upgrade file everything seemed OK. END appeared on the LCD and the machine switched off. I then started it again, by pressing Standby, and it BOOTed (this with the USB stick in the front port) and eventually, after being grey for a bit, a picture appeared on the TV. After waiting 10 mins (expecting a re-boot), during which I tried to Telnet and ftp in, I put the USB stick back into my laptop and checked the contents – none of the install .tar files had been deleted so I assume nothing had been installed.

I then reloaded the previous .hdf file (02/02/2011) and had access via FTP and Telnet again. After that I manually installed Dropbear and Mongoose. Dropbear access works OK but I was not able to get web access – which may well be an error on my part – but PS shows a Mongoose process running. Also, as noted above I cannot run chown.

I have tried downloading the 3c bundle file again and re-extracting the .hdf file but still could not get it to install – same result as earlier.

Any ideas as to what I should try next would be welcome, would it be worth going back to the 1.00.13 firmware if it is still available?
