...Yes I have (paired), that sorts that one out...

Lots of users of the app have found out that the app spins the box up every 15-20 mins and are unhappy.

...Do you think I was just unlucky with the hard drive?

I have had to re-format twice since I got the box 15 months ago, as have lots of other users. No explanation forthcoming from Humax or Freesat.

Thanks for that. I guess the final question is, is there any way of copying from the hard drive those few programs that you do not want to loose?

No, there is no easy way (as in built-into the box) currently of saving your precious recordings. A feature that is much requested.

New version should be going OTA now.

    Release note:

    • Youtube V4 full support
    • UI Improvements (Time of recordings added to Planned Recordings)

In addition you should find manual transponder entry now works.

Edit: HB 1000S - Version 2.00.09 confirmed to be OTA tomorrow 28 Jan 2014.

    Just updated to 2.00.13.

Date and time on planned recordings is much better. I can now see if i have 2 recordings planned for the same time and can be prepared to turn off the box and watch on TV's Freeview if necessary.

I also like the addition of reminders that came in the previous upgrade. Just a shame there is no series remind but I can live without that.

I have now had my 1000s since March and it is only just starting to look and behave like it should have done from the start.

Despite the issues we have had (and I have been lucky to have missed a lot of the problems mentioned on this site) I am extremely pleased with this box.

I quit Sky last March and there was the initial getting used to the box after about 14 years of using Sky's user interface but technically this is a far superior box to Sky's. The Picture quality is better and the Dolby Digital output through the HDMI is far better too.

I still feel that there are far too many button presses needed to do certain things and the boot up to the home page is very annoying and in my opinion this is the thing that needs to be changed to make this box more user friendly.

Sound issue seems to be fixed opening YouTube via SD/HD channels.
Good to see times back on planned recordings, shame there's no times for recorded program's too as that would come in handy for the likes of double Corrie episodes and identifying which episode is which.
I know it's nowt to do with Humax or Freesat as I get the same on WiiU too, but why have YouTube insisted on the onscreen buffer/duration/pause/play bar beeing so far up the screen at the start and remaining on screen for so long, it's rather annoying.

I'm thankful for the updates however everything is still too damn slow. The EPG is only a tiny smidgen of a fraction of a second quicker than before.

Before what? Certainly the early Jan update made it considerably faster than previously.
