    How easy is it to upgrade the hard drive on the HDR-1100S.

    Not done it on a 1100S but have put a 2TB drive in a 1000S. It's very straight forward.

    I've opened the top but how do I remove the grey plastic thing?

    This is a guess but I think the 4 x 2 clips left and right of the photo are holding it.

    Based on a previous post screwdriver in slot push outwards to disengage clips. I think there is a 5th lower centre.

    This did it. It was Just the 4 clips. Theres no clip in the middle.

    My 2TB hard drive (WD20EURX) I put in from my SKY HD box was double the thickness of the 500GB drive in the Humax but just about managed to fit.

    It formatted fine using the Humax settings and works great.

    Also for anyone thinking of changing the hard drive, 2 of the hard drive screws have a warranty seal so a hard drive change will void warranty.
