My Humax 9200T has worked well for the last 4 years but in the last couple of weeks has started acting up when recording programmes. The disc is currently about 65% full. When it records it lists the recorded programme as a duplicate recording of something recorded a couple of months ago. The most recent recording of Hunted showed up as a duplication of a Touch of Frost recorded in August - in fact it listed the Touch of Frost program 4 times, once for the actual Frost programme a the other 3 all Hunted. I've carried out a factory reset and retune but the problem still happens although not all the time as before. Any ideas?

When it records it lists the recorded programme as a duplicate recording of something recorded a couple of months ago. These are classic signs of a corrupt file system. the fix is to watch any important recordings then format the hard drive from the HDD Control item in the Record Menu (default password 0000). Note that that if you do nothing the problem will get worse and you will suddenly be faced with a blank list of recordings,

Hi and welcome to the forum
This problem is exacerbated if the unit is left powered on (not in standby) all the time. It is recommended that if you are not manually putting the unit into standby then you should set the automatic switch on and off times to something convenient e.g. overnight. If this doesn't apply in your case then consider it as advice for other readers who may be suffering a similar problem. If your feel competent enough you can remove the drive and connect to a computer in order to backup your recordings using humaxrw in recovery mode (available from the blog here - link). The usual disclaimer and caveats apply.

However there is some evidence to suggest that when significant corruption has occurred then leaving the box on all the time until it is convenient to format is more likely to keep the recordings visible.
