We are experiencing a degraded picture on ITV3 when viewed though our Humax 9200T. Strangely, the picture on ITV3 is perfect when viewed on the TV's own channel. Both automatic and manual channel searches have been carried out, but things remain the same.

Our Humax is connected to the incoming signal via the antenna in port, and the TV via the loop out. Is there a rational explanation for this, please?

Start by telling us the signal strength and quality as reported by the Humax when viewing ITV3.

Signal strength varies between 46 and 54, quality between 0 and 70, (at the moment it is 10). We are on the fringes of the Wenvoe transmitter, which gives us our reception. Post code checks usually say that Ridge Hill is best for us, but our farm buildings have always interfered with the signal from that direction.

Signal strength is OK (but not brilliant); signal quality is the problem. You say in your first post you manually tuned; what multiplex channel numbers did you use? What is the first part of your postcode?

    Postcode is NP25

    Manually tuned channels are: 39 - 41 - 42 - 44 - 45 - 47

    Thank you.

I think you are doing things correctly. Digital UK predict variable reception for the SDN multiplex that carries ITV3 which seems to be what you are experiencing with the Humax but the TV manages to do better. My guess is that the poor signal quality is due to interference from another transmitter. I suggest talking to a local aerial installer to see if any improvements can be made with a different aerial or amplifier etc.

Thanks for your time and trouble. I'll do as you suggest.
