This device always seems to be doing something even turned off. The Whirr is annoying , especially as its using electricity,
Apart from pulling the plug, How can i stop it?

    Welcome to our Forum

Try a default settings, make a note of your scheduled timers as you will have to re enter them.

    Resets box to factory condition.

    Access via:

    Menu
    Installation (default password is 0000 - 4 zero's)
    Default Settings

Ok it worked,,It now stops when turned off by button Box.
But thats daft that you have to go to a different setting for it to stop.
Whats the purpose of it spinning on its own any way, As there must be thousands of owners with the same situation?
    Thanks

If by 'it worked' you mean the default settings then it has fixed a glitch whereby your unit got 'stuck' in an active state rather then shutting down to full standby.

yes switchs off like a TV, DVD, etc,
But why is this a default to start with? It should be standard, as its wearing out the drive, and wasting electricity

It is not a default that the drive stays spinning.
Your Humax just got its knickers in a twist. Using 'default setting' fixed this. You are now free to adjust any of the menu settings.
