I think I know the answer, but I will ask it anyway in case I am wrong.
Is there any straightforward way to transfer recordings made on a 9300T onto a 5000T? I emphasise "straightforward" because complex solutions would probably be beyond me.

The 9300T uses a propriety disk operating system. Software exists for the PC which is based on running a command window (DOS) utility though there is a post on this forum that indicates a GUI add on for windows exists that allows the files to be located and copied. You would need to remove the drive and connect it to a PC (easiest way is i slot in USB drive caddy. The recordings are in a transport stream container (.ts), once you have these on a PC you have the option of copying then to a 5000T or playing them back with the 5000T over a home network.
I never had a 9300T but I did have a 9200T, it was possible to copy files (rather slowly) to a PC using USB. My memory may be a bit dimmed as I had a Topfield 5800 at the same time one copied to a PC directly using USB and the other to USB mass storage device connected to the pvr.
Not sure if the usb export capability made it to the 9300T.

Unfortunately it didn't. It may have been in one of the pre-launch designs of the 9300T as the first models off the production line had a seal over where the USB slot would have gone. One of the early reviews had a photo of the back with a USB port showing but this was not the one released.
Thanks folks, I think you have confirmed my belief that it is not easily, if at all, possible. I am definitely not into taking the drive out of the 9300!
