Hi, I'm suddenly getting a "no signal" message on certain channels. ITV1 HD, Channel 4 SD, BBC1 SD, and a few others. I've looked at a few threads on here, I've checked the transponders on the non-freesat settings, it seems to be the horizontal channels I'm having a problem with. Is it a dish alignment issue, or something more technical? Thanks in advance.

I would guess LNB is failing.

I seem to be getting the same problem ... only on some channels and quite intermittently it shows 'weak or no signal'. This has only been the case for the last 2 or 3 days and affects ch4SD, ch5HD, BBC4HD among others.

    Possible reasons.

1 Water in the coax cables (can be a box killer especially with air spaced dialectric coax).

    2 Lnb failing.

3 Dish/lnb moved due to bad weather.

4 Tree growth impinging on dish line of site to 28.2E

1 Inspect the lnb connections carefully for signs of damp and corossion.

    2 Replace the LNB

3 Tune to a dodgy channel and bring up diagnostics. Get some one to press gently on the top of the back of the dish. Wait for the tuner to respond. If the quality goes up the dish needs a tiny nudge to lower the elevation.
Repeat for bottom of dish, then left and right (azimuth). Aim is to find the sweet spot.

    4 Buy a chain saw

Seems to be horizontally polarised channels
