Just received 5000T freeview trying to set it up but the ariel input does not fit one end goes in the ariel socket and the other end only fits the out not the in.

Phoned Humax support could not understand it told me to send it back to Amazon. has anyone else had this problem.

The cable you are using is supplied as a patch cable to allow the box to loop the aerial through to the TV.

The plug on your existing aerial cable should have a male belling Lee Plug and connect directly to the 5000T aerial in socket (female). The aerial out socket is male so the female socket on the short patch lead connects to this and the other male end connects to the TV. To use this arrangement you need to turn off power saving in sby. If you don't the TV won't get any aerial signal while the box is in sby.

Use the cable you were previously using from the wall socket, this should be male/male. If this is a new setup in another room, you may have to go buy a new male/male lead, most supermarkets and poundshops sell them.
Then (as per Graham) use the Humax supplied cable from the Humax out to the TV.
