can HD be backed up before format

Hi Guys,

I'm having the issues where my box fails recording when HD is showing about 50% full. It also refuses to pause etc. I don't know if the HD is faulty or if this is a bug. I also remember HD showing some % used when it was new but don't remember what that was.

Anyway I want to format the HD but I've got loads of recordings that I would like to keep. Is there anyway to move all this onto an external HD and then put back after format?

No way of exporting content as yet. Not certain if it will ever be possible.
