Can I use only part of a HDD to record tv.

Is it possible to partition a 1TB HDD so that only a section is used for the recording. I have some faulty clusters at the start of the disc but the rest is ok. So I thought if I partitioned the disk so that the bad clusters were not included all would be well. I have created the partition in Ext3 and cluster size 1KB using Easus. However, although the Humax sees the drive I can not record to it from tv. If I use Humax to format the partition it includes the whole drive, including the bad clusters.

Any suggestions?

Got the answer. I did the same thing but with Gparted instead of Easus Partition Manager and all works as planned.
