    Hi all,
I initialized my drive in Windows 10 (Then I read it's the one thing NOT to do) and am trying to recover the partition table.

When I use HumaxCheck (In Administrator mode) and use the command

    humaxcheck x: -p -w

I keep getting a "Permission denied" error. I have tried both on a Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer and a Win 10 Pro 64 bit.

Anyone got any ideas at all, as would really like to recover my recordings.

Would trying Windows XP help at all?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

How are you getting into Administrator mode?

Hi Martin, by right clicking on Command Prompt from the start menu and selecting "Run as administrator".

OK that should be fine. Another stupid question, how are you determining the value to use for x:?

From the Disk Management where it is listed as Disk 6.

    So I type in humaxcheck 6: -p -w

I do wonder if this is cause perhaps of recent Windows 7 & 10 updates, perhaps some sort of security measure by Microsoft?

Thank you for your help so far in solving this

You seem to be doing everything correctly as far as I can tell.

In the wonderful world of Microsoft anything is possible. Maybe try Windows XP as you suggested in your first post.

There is a post on another forum site that suggests you have to run as an administrator AND login as an administrator.
