    Thanks Martin, I managed to try it before I went out, and this has worked. I can now view tv when the Humax is switched off.

    Thanks all for your help.
    After replacing the Aerial outlet in the lounge, I moved the Humax back into the Lounge and did a auto scan which found all channels on Pontoc Pike. I`ve checked reception on all channels and found no picture break up. I am thinking there was a problem with the old outlet after 40 years.
    Touch wood all seems ok and it looks like I`m now happy with the Humax.
