I'm moving from a Humax 9300 to the 4000T. Is there any easy way to copy existing recordings from the 9300 to the 4000 please. If so, would appreciate any guidance how to do this.

    Thanks

Search in the 9300 forum for getting files off the 9300 onto a PC. Copy them to USB stick or USB disk and plug it in to the FVP - see the manual. You may also be able to access across the LAN while still on the PC - see the manual. I don't know if the FVP will play them but you will soon find out.

I think the only way to get files off the 9300 is to open the 9300 and connect the hard drive to a PC and use humaxrw to copy them to the PC. You only need the .ts file and I would expect them to be playable on the 4000T.

That has raised a memory from the digitalspy forum where we corresponded. Wasn't there some problem that humaxrw did not work on 9300? Or was it fixed?

I have successfully used humaxrw under both Windows and Linux to transfer files to and from a 9200T - my 10 year old 9200T is on its 2nd 500GB disk!

See posts 27 and 30 in Upgrade 9200T disk with SATA 500GB drive from eBay about using humaxrw.

Humaxrw is fine for extracting the files from a 9300T. It was the putting back on to a 9300T that is a problem.

There is an unresolved problem (because I believe nobody bothered to supply the program author with the data to resolve the problem) in putting recordings back on to a 9300. As far as I know downloading from a 9300 works fine.

Thanks for the useful advice. I am OK technically with this but it sounds like too much effort - think I will just watch and delete the recordings on the 9300 to keep life simple. There is nothing I need to keep long term.
    Thanks
