    Hi Guys,

Thinking about picking up a HDR1000s and have a couple of questions.

I plan to host a DLNA server off my win7 machine.

The media is typically a .mkv container with a mixture of AC-3 and DTS audio tracks.

With the HDR be able to play these files?

Will it also process or pass the 5.1 over HDMI?

    Thanks in advance

    Jason

Hi Jason, welcome to the forum. No DTS support. Yes to ac3 and 5.1 over hdmi. Not tried MKV but no problem with standard resolution and framerates in a .ts container (including 1080p24).

If it's any help if you want to upload a short file somewhere I can try it out for you.

The problems with the DLNA client on the 1000S/1010S have been extensively documented on this and other forums. In my case it essentially is useless...
    1) Will not stream any video files from my Twonky NAS, MKV, AVI, MP4.
    2) Has many problems handling my large music collection.
    3) Will not display many JPEGs.
I gave up and bought a dedicated media player, Mede8ter 450X2, for just over 80 Pounds. Does it all seamlessly.

Using the DLNA server included in Nero2014 (Nero Play To TV).

Video from all three files plays fine. As expected the two files with DTS audio have no sound (Enders Wallace). The snowman that has ac3 audio plays back OK. The other content will need the DTS replacing with ac3.
