This is what I am trying to do and trying to copy via the media server expecting the files to copy and convert but they just don't copy. The windows copying box just stops at 0%

The only thing I noticed is that the image iñ the FAQ is just "media server" mine is "media server DMC" I think it is DMC but not at the PC at the moment.

    Any help

    That is correct.

Double click and you should see folder named 'my contents'
double click again should see folders 'Internal HDD', 'Recordings', 'USB HDD'

Double click Recordings folder, SD files should have an MPEG icon, - I just drag to desktop for convenience.

Just rechecked to make sure nothing has changed with recent software updates, and have copied off a SD recording to my desktop without issue.

I was in the right place.

After you confirmed it was ok I removed the power from the FVP-4000T waited 10 seconds and reconnected.

Now all seems to work ok.

    Thanks for the help.

I've just bought a FVP4000T and I can't get the samba share to work either.

If I click on the FVP4000T DMS the only option I've got is to open with the media server.

I can connect by entering the network address in the address box of the file browser and can see the recordings but they remain encryted.

    What am I doing wrong?

I forgot to mention I'm on Widows 7

    Hi Steveg

If you read Richard's last post which is pretty comprehensive.
You will se that Win 7 and Vista suffer from the same issue with Humax firmware patch 59.
We are still waiting after over a year for them to get their asses in gear and release a patch.
    Don't hold your breath.

As a side issue which probably should be a separate thread - Why have Humax decided that they need to encrypt recordings? They were obviously free to air in the first place.

It's not Humax, it's part of the Freeview spec, and it's to stop copying.

    Thanks Brian

I've also tried a Win 10 and a Linux machine and I can't get it to work with those either.

I feel a bit cheated as this was one of the features that got me to buy the FVP4000 in the first place - it's not a major issue just something that would be very nice to have.
