So I got given a DTR-T1000 ex-BT, and noticed after it was updated with the latest youview software it was over heating. So I wondered what CPU is running in these boxes? I've taken the lid off and can see a weird sort of heatsink or plate for a heatsink to sit on. I've got a Freesat Fox HD as well and can see thats got a decent heatsink on and I know from the RaspberryPi its possible to clock some cpu's back ie make then run slower when they the cpu hits 85Celsius to stop them from hanging. Intels do this automatically but AMD's certainly didnt used to, they just froze although the newer Ryzens might have changed this. I also noticed there is some DIY/Home grown code on this website that runs on these devices. I wondered if the code is available on somewhere like GitHub to hack around with these devices here a bit more. I wondered if anyone has them working with DLNA.

    Thanks

I don't think there is any DIY/Home grown code for the DTR-T1000 on this website. There is custom firmware for the HDR-FOX T2 and FOXSAT-HDR over at hummy.tv but not for any other Humax models.

    Re Hummy.tv and custom firmware.
Thanks, thats the site, I've obviously got my websites mixed up, been browsing so many of them. I'll ask about the firmware source on their site.

I noticed the DTR-T1000 forum (https://myhumax.org/forum/forum/dtr-t1000-1) appears to be locked now, is it not possible to ask questions about it on here anymore?

OK the source code is available but there is still an immense amount of work for someone with a strong Linux software development background to get through to port it to a different Humax model.

Are you looking at the FAQ section (which has always been locked) rather than the actual Forum section which doesn't appear to be locked to me?

That is the FAQ link for the youview models.
To ask a question about a youvew model there is the forum for youview models.

You may not need to ask for individual tuition on https://hummy.tv/forum/ for all your questions.
Like many sites https://hummy.tv/forum/ does allow you to have a look around at its wikies and forums.

That is possible, I've never looked at one of these before, but with coding, depending on how its been coded, porting can sometimes be a fairly easy process.

For example, code written in C often ports fairly easily, but I would imagine there are firmware properties which need setting, some needing a new value, others not.

Yeah I liked its wiki's. This is a good starting page https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Overview

This looked interesting because it mentions DLNA playback (https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Foxlink), but I doesnt look like its available on my devices.

I was also given a DTR T1000 and for a few months it worked fine but yesterday would not load. I read about resetting by switching on and then holding the volume control until the reset option is shown. I assume you must do this with the Remote as I don’t see a volume control on the box. Just wondering if you managed to achieve this with yours?

    Thanks in anticipation
