Hi noticed my smart TV swapped BBC1 HD from Ch 101 to 1 in EPG guide this has to do with the HD swap for compatible devices running certain versions ID of Freeview Play. In a nutshell Channel List Management (CLM) enables Freeview to broadcast an alternative channel list to smart TVs via the internet that doesn’t affect older TVs and non-HD devices.

I noted the Aura at present does not use a version of Freeview play compatible to update EPG an place BBC1 HD at ch 1. Will this likely change to been compatible with a freeview play app update for the Aura?.

Freeview website states most modern devices will use a compatible version of the Freeview play platform and Id consider the Aura as modern but at present not compatible.

To check if your devices are compatible instruction offered from the freeview site state

Go to Freeview channel 100 on a Freeview Play device. This will load the Freeview Explore portal. ..Select Help and Settings.
the TV will display a collection of numbers and letters in bottom right corner, this is the Freeview Play platform ID.

However the Aura showed nothing one had to click the "Get help" tabs on the same help and settings page before ID appeared bottom right.

The Aura ID is HU20-A4k and not listed

If the ID matches one of the following, your device should be compatible. Here Is a list of compatible IDs

    EL21-A2K
    EL21-A4K
    HI21-2K*
    HI21-4K
    HI22-962K

    HI22-99
    HI23-96
    LG22-F22

    P20-4K*
    P20-A*
    P21-4K*
    P22-4K*

    TPV21-AT
    TPV22-AM*
    TPV22-LN90
    TPV23-LN76
    TPV23-LN902K
    TPV23-LN904K
    UMC21-AT
    UMC22-2K
    UMC22-4K
    V20-MB180G31
    V20-MB180G32
    V20-MB181
    V21-AFTVBX
    V21-AFTVJ
    V21-MB185A

Devices with the Freeview Play platform ID marked with an asterisk will only display the BBC HD channels in one position on the TV list. For example, BBC One HD will only appear on channel 1, not on channel 101. On all other devices, BBC One HD is duplicated on both channel 1 and 101.

If the Aura MK2 isn't in the works at Humax presumably we may see an update, but as it's been nearly 2 years since the last one so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hopefully the new Manhattan T4-R, which does have Channel Management out of the box, and maybe more feature rich than the T3-R with a triple tuner thrown in might frighten them into action. Only issue is the T4-R has now slipped to August after being initially due for launch in June.

All we can do is wait and hope.

By modern devices with Freeview Play, Freeview mean post 2020 as that was when the specification was updated.

Unless the Aura were to be updated (and I think that highly unlikely) then it won’t get any of the newer Freeview Play features.

The 2021 version of the specification was published in June 2020 and the Aura was launched in October 2020. I think it does incorporate some features from the 2021 specification.

I agree we are unlikely to see any additional features.
