Is there a maximum capacity that the unit will recognise.

What speed are the USB ports and do they provide enough power for usb/host powered drives.

When the unit goes into standby do the USB ports power down.

Are certain makes recommended/preferred by the Humax.

    thanks

The maximum capacity is not known - 2TB is known to work, I would think that any limit would have been designed in so it may well be whatever the Linux drivers/chipset support.

The ports are USB2 and sufficiently fast. For sure power sufficient for solid state drives - depends on what power a standard drive pulls (which varies a lot).

Yes the ports are powered down in standby and I believe only the wakeup timers are powered.
