While setting a timer for "There will be blood" (Sat night 22:45 BBC Two HD), I saw an icon in the "info" that I haven't noticed before. Besides the usual symbols for HD, subtitles, Dolby Digital, etc, there's what looks like a small Facebook symbol. Anyone know what it indicates?

Good question, It's also on Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV1-HD. The icon doesn't appear in the Help Guide To what the icons mean.

Saturday Night Takeaway is also listed in Showcase. I agree the meaning should be made clear by Freesat/Humax. Little point using a symbol without providing an explanation. And come to that, little point in flagging Showcased programmes anyway. By the time the user sees the symbol, they already know about the programme.
