It's been a long time since I needed to transfer a file from my Aura to my laptop. I've successfully done this in the past using FileZilla. Currently, I am unable to get FileZilla to connect to the Aura - I keep getting the dreaded 'RECONNREFUSED' error. I know the trick of toggling File Share and Allow Anonymous on & off but nothing seems to work. I've switched the Aura on & off, rebooted the laptop all to no avail. I've repeated the process at least 6 or 7 times but nothing works.

Does anyone have any suggestions or even a different method to transfer the files?

A familiar problem. Also happens with the DLNA server as well. Apart from the methods you've tried, which sometimes work for me, and assuming you are trying to FTP over the LAN not WiFi connection, you could try (on the Aura) -
Turn WiFi off. Go into the network settings for the LAN and just reapply all the existing settings (assuming they are correct). That occasionally works for me. (Possibly repeat the toggling of the items you mentioned).

If all else fails try rebooting or resetting your PCs network connection, network switch or router.

It's a right pain. Rarely does FTP work straight away when I want it.

I don't use FTP much but I have always found it works first time. I tried a test connection and it failed but then I remembered I had done a reset a few months ago; went to settings and FTP was off, I turned it back on and then it the connected first time.

Thanks EEPhil. Turning Wi-Fi off seems to have done the trick. FileZilla connected immediately and I have done the transfer I needed. I only use a LAN connection over Powerlines as the Wi-Fi signal strength at the Aura's location is poor.
