    Hi,
I have an old Fox T2 that works perfectly with Filezilla, but I can't get the FVP 4000T to work.

I have tried resetting the 4000T, but it still doesn't work.

I use the correct IP for the 4000T

    HumaxFTP for the Username

    Password 0000

    Any ideas, please?

    Thanks David

Hi welcome to our forum. Try temporarily disabling your Virus Checker Firewall.

Can you map the box in Windows Explorer using the Samba server ?

What version of Windows (or other OS) are you using ?

    Thanks for the reply:

I have turned off the anti virus and the firewall.

    Windows 10

I can use Filezilla on the Fox T2, but it wont connect on the 4000T, it states the following:

    Command: PASS ****
    Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean Map the drive in Samba, I believe that Samba is a piece of software?

Have you checked that the FTP server is turned on (on the 4000T))?

Samba is a Windows File server. If you open windows explorer and look under network, you should see your 4000T provided the box samba server is turned on. This gives you access using standard windows file copying (drag and drop, copy and paste). If you have the custom firmware on your HDR-FOX-T2 you can also use Samba.

I don't have the 4000T but I believe ftp isn't useful if you want to copy recording files due to encryption on all recorded files.

Hi Graham, Thanks for the reply, yes I can access the 4000T in Windows explorer, but I can only use the Download Folder (not the main Video Folder)( on the 4000T to copy too.

With Filezilla on the Fox T2, I can upload files to the main Video Folder.

What I can't understand is why I can use Filezilla on the Fox T2 but not on the 4000T.

It seems that I need to use a different username or password?

Have you read the bit in the manual that says "Check if the password is correct. Go to HOME > SETTINGS > Network Settings > File Share and set a new password."?

    Hi Martin,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I have just tried creating a password and without a password and neither works.

As I mentioned Filezilla is working fine on my Fox T2.
