    It says Loader Version 7.22 or 7.2.2, update date 08/12/10, software HZPTSF 1.00.28

    So faulty capacitors it is then. Lets see if I can find a spare hour then when the kids aren't watching tv!!! Thanks for your help

    Oh no. I have taken out the capacitors and not noted the polarities, how will I know which way round they go back in? Off to Maplin after lunch to get the capacitors, wondering whether I should buy a new freesat box next from Currys next door to Maplins just in case, I could always return it or perhaps I should have some more faith...

    Usual convention is that the negative is marked on the PCB.

    Check on the others that you haven't removed.

    Never remove polarised items without noting polarity.
