It's new this year - March, maybe - and has worked ok until recently. A Freetime 1000S 1TB machine. Now, though, programmes set to record when we've gone to bed come up with a triangle! Record start time - record end time (which is the same) and 'failed'.

If I don't put the set to standby when switching off the tele, it sometimes works.

Also, a lot of low/insufficient signal messages are coming up, which are cureable by hard break - turning the power to the set off.

I have tried applying a software update, which seemed to help the record on standby when I tested it, but now it's gone back to hopeless mode.

Any advice? Thanks for reading this far...

    Sounds like a dish/lnb issue.

Tune to the channels you normally record in turn and then Settings - General Info - Signal Info

You should see the signal strength and quality for each tuner. Look at the bottom of the screen, how many cables does it say are connected ?

Yup, I guess someone yanked a cable - though I was sure I'd checked them earlier... Problem solved. Thank you.
