I know it's pitiable, but I record it to watch in idle moments. It's crazily quaint against today's shows.
I use series link, but lately more often than not the recording fails: there is no conflict of reserved programs.

Is the problem down to my apparatus, or True Entertainment's ineptitude?

    It may be neither.
It could be that you are tuned to multiple terrestrial transmitters (one full freeview and the other lite) and the recorder has got confused as to which transmitter to look out for the True Entertainment channel.

Which model of box have you got?
And if it is a freeview/youview box which transmitter(s) do you think you are tuned to?

Unless you have a youview box then for a quick (but not best!) solution you could try recording it as a repeat recording instead of using the series option.

@Luke I apologise for wasting your time.

Checked the Crid Data for the 20:00 showing on both Freesat and Freeview all looks to be in order.

Hard to say, perhaps the broadcaster fails to transmit the start recording codes.

Workaround, set a manual recording with a suitable repeat pattern.

No Idea...perhaps coding has been incorrect in the past, or as Graham suggests the running status changes have not been transmitted.

Have set a series timer on a HB 1100S to monitor.
