    FVP4000T Internet Connections Problem.
Have to Re-Boot each time to obtain Internet Connection.
Router IP and Password all correct in 4K Settings.

    Settings...Network Connection Status.

    Local Area Network.. OK

    Internet.................... FAILED Connection.

Each time I have to re-boot the Humax to establish the connection. Once re-booted internet stays connected for a few hours when Re-Booting again is required.

    (Latest OS installed UKTFAE 1.01.25)

Can someone throw some light on my 4K Freeview Internet connection problem.

It may be a Humax software issue, but then again it's OK once I do a Re-Boot so what is the answer ?.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

(We live in a bungalow so not high enough to throw it out of the window just yet...Ha!!!)

What is the DHCP lease period on your router?

REPASSAC. No idea, it's BTHub3 and I would not know how to find that info.

There are other threads here on the same problem. I assume you are connecting via wireless? If so, your signal is weak at that position, or the wireless implementation on the 4K is very poor. Judging by the other complaints most likely the latter.

I am connected by WiFi and I never experience any problems - the Humax gives me a "black box at top of screen" message each time it comes on saying the network is connected (I forget the actual words).

I have a WiFi Extender in the same room as the Humax for other
reasons and the signal strength at the Humax is obviously good.

Another thought - if the Humax is surrounded by other equipment, especially metal cased, these may be shielding it. Position it clear of other devices and try again.

Position a laptop or tablet close to the HUmax - what WiFi signal strength does it see?

The BT Hub will have a long lease time - at least 24 hours. I think that lease times are designed to release IP addresses for unused lines, so an IP address is only dropped if there is no activity for the lease time. If the device continues to use the line, the IP address is kept as long as the gaps between usages is less than the lease time.

NB - your blinking eye avatar is really off-putting! Maybe it is because I am not used to being winked at by other blokes ...

My WiFi strength from Router to 4K is 90% so plenty of internet signal. Once I re-Boot the 4K it auto coonnect and stays on without a hic-cup. Until it's back on standby for a number of hours when another re-Boot is required.

PS. The blinking eye avatar colours change depending on my brand of Whisky...Ha!!!

My Humax connects to the WiFi each time it is powered ON - it is not connected when it is in STANDBY.

And I always forget that when I switch on and go, too soon, to something that requires the web, like Netflix. Grrrr. R-
