I have a well used FVP400T and decided to trade up to an Aura. Looked like a simple swap of IN/Out and HDMI cables at HDMI2.

However I run the sound theough a Yamaha amp which runs the surround sound which didn't recognise the Aura (no on screen outout to set up and the FVP400T still coming up on the Tamaha as HDMI 2).

    Am I doing something wrong?

(BTW sound output is now completely lost even when I plug the FVP400T back in it won't read that either!). Successful day!

Have you checked all the HDMI and ARC settings? could something have set the sound to optical? Whilst on the amps HDMI2 channel unplug the HDMI from the Aura and plug in again, If still no luck try another HDMI cable.

I have checked the sound settings, now set at TV speaker only because it wasn't picking up the external speakers. I have toggle back and forth with the ARC and it makes no difference. I will try the idea about plugging in and out when on HDMI32 but I am sure I fif did taht many times yesterday. The new Humax came with a new HDMI cable but intially I used the old cable until I had problems, using the new cable ddidnt seem to help but I will do a mix and match to make sure. Thanks.

    OK, sortred I think!

Finally got the TV to recognise the new Humax by plugging and unplugging HDMIs as suggested. Got picture, did all the set up, selected the surround sound option. It sounds incredible through the surround sound speakers, much better than the old Humax. Many thanks!

Well done, I had similar issues with my Denon AV amp/ Aura set up. ARC/eARK can be a real pain in the ass, I never did manage to get my TV's audio to work with HDMI to my amp and had to use an optical cable. It is also worth noting that all HDMI cables are not equal, old versions will not cope with 4k/8k and eARK.

I should invest in a new set of HDMI cables then!

Wondering now if I can split the In/out signals to use both Humax boxes as one is on HDMI2 and one is on HDMI3 now. Eso since my wife has hundreds of programmes on the old drive.

I have my old Humax T2 and my Aura connected to my Denon AV amp, not sure why you need to split your in and out ( I assume you mean rf leads). You can still access all those old recordings just with HDMI. I just have the Aura connected to an aerial and if there is ever an issue with the Aura not working on a channel I can then swap the leads over to the T2, I have only had to do that twice in 3 years as most things are available on the Aura apps anyway.
Some info on HDMI cable differences and ARC here.......... https://www.tomsguide.com/us/hdmi-arc-faq,news-26262.html
