I had deleted various recordings over the last few weeks and this evening looking through the recordings I noticed the recordings are reappearing in the index. There is no recording, and it shows it as a broken recording icon, and a the channel recorded, and the time of the recording, such as 2100- 2100

Please note, I've watched the recordings, and the example above would have been 2100-2200.

I have options of playing the recording, deleting the recording and record the whole series. It won't play, so the option i took was to delete the recording.

How did these deleted recordings reappear in the index?
    Anyone else seeing this?

I guess nobody else is seeing this. It's very odd.

It sounds to me as though there may be some corruption of the file system on the hard drive. How old is your box?

It's less than 18-months old, Martin.
Once i've deleted the programme, it's gone, then I look the next day and the file appears back in the index.

Is it a specific single recording that keeps reappearing?

No, not any specific recording index. There is no apparent pattern to it.
Just to point out again, it's only the index of that recording, there is not recording to play.

It isn't a commonly reported problem as far as I know. Try talking to Humax technical support.

    Thanks.
I'm wondering if the problem is too many files. It's a 1TB disk and is probably 75% full.
I'm going to try one other thing, and that's to copy/move the files from the internal drive to an external device to see if the problem is resolved by emptying the internal drive.
I will restore fewer recordings and see if the problem goes away.

I think that is unlikely. It would have reported a long time ago if there was an inherent problem.

    Good idea.

How are you going to restore them?

The same way I will copy them off, using an external HD via USB, and, I assume i'll be able to copy them back with the reverse method.
I've never needed to archive off recordings before, so this is a new exercise. I may not bother restoring them as it seems to take ages to copy via the USB.
