Turn off the DHCP server on your router. Go to the HB-1000S network settings, reselect connect automatically, wait for the attempt to time out and you will then be able to enter a manual setting. Now turn the DHCP server on the router back on.
Thank you for the reply,
I tried that last night, but with no success. The box just automatically connected to the previous IP address that it had which is a conflict and doesnt work. I am going to see if I can force my router to flush the IP address history (not sure if I can) and then try again. Is this the only way to access the manual settings?
Cheers
You may find you need to reboot the router after turning off the DHCP server. That should also cause the router to forget the current DHCP existing allocation settings.
Yes manual settings are only offered if the unit can't get a DHCP address and there is no other way of getting to them. I believe they prefer DHCP to avoid manually caused address conflicts.
The address conflict may be the cause of the problem - can you not turn off whatever has the address while you do this?
I presume it is the DNS setting you want to change? If not an address reservation on the router for the HB's MAC address would be a better option.
