Hopefully someone has encountered/resolved this issue before but I can't find an answer. My Box front display panel has stopped displaying and nothing is coming up on the tv.. its is like it is dead but the 12v power converter appears working fine, and when switched on the box feels warm.
Is it toast or is there a known issue?
    It's 2 years old.
    Appreciate any wisdom

If it's out of warranty try disconnecting the hard drive to see if it boots up OK.

After placing in standby, remove the power for 5 minutes.
On the HDR-1000S and I suspect the other models, screws are hidden in the feet.
Remove cover and disconnect the sata and power connector(s).

Thanks. Power and data disconnected. No life. The red led on the manual power button normally goes red. But this is dead, but the unit warms up. ANY OTHER WACKY SUGGESTIONSo or is it the recycle yard? Shame after only 2 years....:)

If you know anyone else with one of these units you could try a different power supply.

I too have a box in this state, and had tried all of the suggestions in this thread. when powered, the cpu gets warm, implying that it's running, but the box responds to nothing. I've hung onto it, just in case it decides to come out of hibernation ....... I shan't hold my breath
