Had my HDR-1100s freesat box for a few years and it's been perfectly fine until last night when I noticed that it is continually rebooting. It gets as far as the Humax logo page then the screen goes black and it cycles through again.

I can't get as far as the menu in order to try a reset but I've switched it off at the plug and left it overnight which has made no difference.

I've also disconnected all leads including the hdmi in case it was a CEC problem and connected video via a RCA cable. Also tried downloading the latest software from Humax and, although it did go through the upgrade process, it did not make any difference.

I've sent an email to Humax but was wondering if anyone on here had any other ideas before I give up on it and replace it. The only similar issues I could find on a google search seem to be resolved by performing a reset but I can't get that far in the power up cycle before it reboots.

    Thanks for reading

Open the case and disconnect the hard drive power and data connections. Now try booting the box. If it boots up as a non recording box. You need a new hard drive.

I got some free time this morning so I tried removing the hard disk but unfortunately I get the same result. Looks like it might have finally given up.
    Thanks for the advice.

Do you have any odd characters in the WiFi password. If so change the router password to one with numbers and letters only.
