I just replaced my Sky box with the HDR-1100S with the intention of viewing the recorded material around the house using DNLA. I was under the impression that this machine included a DNLA server but I cannot see it from TV's across the network. Have I made a big mistake and bought a recorder with just a DNLA client?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Welcome to our Forum

Client only, server was muted as a possible future update but all has gone quiet on that front.

The current range of freesat units have a client but no server.
Some of us hope one may be added in the future but as time goes on it seems less probable.

You of course meant mooted, Barry Although as time goes by and nobody, least of all Humax, talks about it you may be right

    Doh! I could say.....

No I meant muted as in 'all gone quiet on subject'

but of course you are correct.

As you remark Barry, I think both mooted and muted are correct in this instance.

Certainly if I were a betting man I would put my money on server capability not been added on the Freesat platform any time soon.

I am hoping that the Sky Q stuff may prompt freesat into action.

Care to take a punt on the year, or even perhaps the decade?

I live in hope, but I will bet this decade. Two pints OK for you?

"This decade" means by end of 2019. Hope springs eternal. Good luck.
