All of my existing recordings suddenly say 'Invalid file format ' when I try to play them. Also the box cannot make any more recordings. Also can no longer pause live TV due to 'The function does not work while retrieving data for time shift buffer.' error. The disk is less than 40% full. I have tried numerous factory resets and HDD cleanups and disk formats and switching off the power to the box overnight but nothing seems to fix this for long. Is there a way to reformat the disk externally as I've given up on ever seeing any of my old recordings again?

Hi GT123,
Welcome to the forum. You can turn off the buffer within settings menu. Then turn on again The buffer runs continuously in a loop for 2 hours. It's on a separate partition of hard drive. Worst factor could be corrupted hard drive, this does happen from time to time. Have a try and see if this may resolve issue. The file error could be part of it.
Be interested to know how you get on. John L

New user - finding my way. Can't find a way, when several episodes of a series have been recorded, to play in correct order. Can only select the most recently broadcast.
