    Hi folks, my unit froze whilst watching a on demand programme on my 5. Nothing after that, turned everything off left overnight, still nothing. I am still in warranty waiting for them to return my call. Any advice in the meantime may be useful.

    The unit is making a whirring sound, it does not sound normal?

    I had exactly the same thing happen to me yesterday but at around 7pm. Unable to change channels, use the menus, would not even power off with either the remote or the buttons on the unit. I disconnected the power cable, left it for about 20 seconds, re-connected and everything was as before. Though I had to re-start a recording that I had interrupted by pulling the power cable.
