HDR 1100s sudden death

    Probably what mine has gone down a second time with after Digirepair repaied it 9 months ago (6 month warranty). They described the fault before as "out of tolerance" component .... out of tolerance has arrived again.

    Decided to buy the Arris box. Fun. All those £69's add up. The HDR Arris fault is still there that if you have a HDR 4k TV you have to disable the HDMI port so it never switches into HDR, if not you get like an AI generated image - massaged the HD image in to HDR and it looks terrible. I say that as a warning that Freesat's current recordable box has a design fault but can be fixed via twiddling the HDMI TV port settings.
