    Unit is a 7 year old HDR-FOX T2.
Occasionally, when switching on with the commander, the TV image has a strong green cast. The problem has developed recently.
It is corrected by power cycling the unit mains supply.

The unit runs the original s/w, Ver FHTCP 1.03.12.
System ID is 80BC.7E00. The HDR-TV connection is SCART

Anyone encountered this problem and has a solution ?

    Thanx in advance, John

I wonder if it is just that the SCART connector on the box (or the tv) is not fully plugged in and, if you switch off using a mains switch on the back, the connector gets slightly disturbed and reconnects.

Could be poor connections on the SCART at either end causing the colour cast, but only if you are feeding the TV via RGB. The SCART was, and is an awfully unreliable connector, plugs tend to 'walk' themselves loose.

    Hi A1944, fedman1

Thanx for the insightly responses. You've prompted me to check the operation of SCART and my TV (elderly Trinitron KV-28FQ75U) which has 3 SCART I/PS, all the same except that IP1 is RGB & IP2/3 are SVIDEO. I'm connecting via IP1.

"not fully plugged in" The connectors are plugged in fully but I've swopped the SCART lead for another anyway. None of the pins are flashed, and need cleaning with a ink eraser.

"if you switch off using a mains switch on the back" The mains switch is the wall socket so I'm not disturbing the HRD.

If the problem persists I'll check connectivity with IP2.

    Best John

    Hi, John.
I too have just developed this problem.
A yellow/green  hue to the screen which most notably affects the grey and blacks on the media and guide pages. There are also lines on the Humax load picture.
My t2 connects via scart to an old 20 y.o CRT  Philips tv.
I tried the t2 on my other (led ) tv via HDMI and it worked fine.
I have replaced the scart and there was no difference. I tried composite out to the tv and this still made no difference.
I then tried the dvd player to the tv(scart again ) when it was doing the green thing and it too was green. Turning the tv off and on remedied the issue for a bit.
My tv has bright white channel logos normally but I noticed that they are all yellow when the problem is apparent. So I am guessing that it is my tv which is on the way out.
Reading other similar problems on the forums might suggest loaders and handshakes which is beyond me.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Simon

"I tried the t2 on my other (led ) tv via HDMI and it worked fine".
"I .. tried the dvd player to the tv(scart again ) when it was doing the green thing and it too was green"

Hmm . . these point to a TV fault.

"Turning the tv off and on remedied the issue"
Presumably the fault is not shock sensitive ?

Excluding connections, opinion on the web is either the CRT 3 colour gun or circuitry are likely causes of colour casts.

But perhaps not lines of the Humax splash screen (load page)
