    Hello!

    Software Version: UKSFAA1.09
    Loader Version: UKSFAA1.09

I've got a 3 year old HDR100S, it has suddenly started switching off randomly, some times it can stay on for hours, other times it is on and off every few minutes. When it turns off, it doesn't try and start back up and the red light is on on the front. It will turn back on right away and repeat the cycle.

There are no recordings or anything set to record and the hard drive is empty. It is connected to wifi.

So far I have done the following:

    Factory reset
2nd factory reset + formatting hard drive
    Leaving unplugged
    Re-seated all cables

After reset and format, it managed 9 mins before shutting down and that's brought me here.

Can anyone help please? Thank you!

Your software is well of date, current version is 3.00.96
Are you sure you copied it down correctly: Settings > System > Info.

What other devices are connected to the TV and is HDMI-CEC disabled on the TV? (HDMI-CEC has manufacture names - see the FAQ's)

Thanks, Sorry, yes, I'd given you the wrong info, it is the 3.00.96

The box connects to a Yamaha AVR, then into an LG TV. It's been that way for 3 years, no changes. I use a Harmony remote to control it all.

Only other devices connected to the TV via the AVR are an Nvidia Shield TV.

CEC is disabled on the TV and AVR. Can't see where to disable it on the humax though.

Try fitting a cec removal adaptor on the Humax HDMI cable.

That the unit does not restart after switching off would indicate it is
    not a system crash.

    That leaves several possibilities.
    - A stray infrared source - try obstructing the IR receiver on the unit.
    - Less likely is other nearby kit interfering with the units operation.

    Anyone got any other ideas?

EDIT: Graham posted when I was retyping this.
Even if it does not solve the problem the HDMI-CEC remover is a useful and inexpensive bit of kit to have around.

Thanks for the info, I think I have located the culprit. Something to do with the shield and the harmony remote. Not sure why or how, but the shield was turning itself on and off after it had updated and CEC was enabled. On the shield there's quite a few CEC settings, but I've re-disabled them and started from scratch with the harmony activity and all is well, but it does not turn on the humax as part of the activity, but does turn it on manually, which is odd. That's probably one for Logitech though.

    Cheers for the help

Edit: Fixed the not turning on thing by deleting the harmony activity and redoing it from scratch.
