Hi all I bought a human 1000s last year and am happy with it, I just bought an 1100s purely for the wireless as its in the bedroom on another tv and I didn't want to trail a Ethernet cable through, it's only about 15 ft from the router, when entering the password it says connecting but says "sorry it seems to be a problem" all the time?

I unplugged the old one and tried it right by the router to the same effect? It works fine with Ethernet cable I only wanted it mainly for YouTube or catch up am I doing something wrong? I've updated the software and did start from new setup
    Thanks

Box is known to have issues with very long or passwords with characters other than alpha numerics. Try changing your WiFi password to something simpler.

Hi Graham thanks for that but I tried it the other day just to a 9 lower case word to no effect ? My other hb 1000s worked fine on the previous password anyway

The "old one" (HB1000S) does not have built-in wifi, so you are presumably using a wifi dongle on that m/c?

Hi pollensa no I'm. Not using dongle with the old one as it's right by the tv so connected with short ethernet
I connected the 1100s with the same ethernet and it worked fine but then I connected to different tv in bedroom (next room ) tried wifi but says "problem? " I've hard reset and changed password to all lower case but not helped

Download a WiFi reception app on your phone and test reception in the locations.
Walls can be a big problem.

OK, so the following statements makes no sense...

"Adam333 - 4 days ago » ...I unplugged the old one and tried it right by the router to the same effect...

Do you have any other devices...phone, tablet, laptop...that work on wifi, ideally next to the new 1100S location in the bedroom?

Check all your router settings especially the SSID and reboot the router.

But maybe you were correct ? Just been sent a new router by ee for extra £1 a month it's fibre and connected instantly? ?
I'd only just bought a 10m ethernet cable from ebay ? Was going to go through ceiling into attic where the freesat cable goes but no need now thanks for everyone's input
