Just to say thanks to a few posters for their posts which have helped me. Had a dish installed last week, as in our location and aerial we lost signal sometimes. We bought a Humax HB 1100s and have had a frustrating time trying to get my head around it.
Have a smart TV so already had all the box is giving us just need a better reception. The info on sound was ace 
also a couple of other things, still have a couple of basic?
Is it best to turn on TV first or the box?

Welcome to the forum.
It rather depends on the make and even model of the TV, i.e. the time it takes to boot and something called HDMI-CEC.
For me with HDMI-CEC disabled, it is TV first then PVR, however Barry has the same brand on TV but a different model and HDMI-CEC works fine for him.HDMI-CEC gave me nothing but problems with being unable to turn the Humax on.
