    One more question.
If there is a power cut,or the item is unplugged, will every thing still stay stored?
We are going to be on TV, and wouldn't want it to be erased!

No problem, everything is stored on the internal hard disk. If you get a power cut then obviously any current recording will fail. On restoration of power the clock will auto reset and recording of your schedule of recordings will continue.

Note though for proper operation Humax pvrs should be left in low power sby 24/7 otherwise they won't work properly. Depending on model they do various tasks in sby like updating the epg etc.

If you chain your aerial to the TV by one of the Freeview boxes you will have to turn off low power sby increasing sby power a little. Simply splitting your aerial feed will give the box it's own feed. Unless your signal is very very marginal this won't have any effect on the picture.

Don't worry about your bills the latest boxes uses around 0.5W in sby, the older ones about 0.75W.
