   Without a working TV aerial for the past couple of weeks, I've relied on iPlayer and YouTube which were working fine until today!

   On power-up, and clicking the Freeview button, I get just 6 icons, including YouTube but it doesn't load. Nothing. And there's no iPlayer icon.

   Naturally I suspected the internet but that checks out OK for both WLAN & Internet - clearly working as I'm able to post this!

   I've tried powering off completely. No difference. And the hard-drive is OK as I can watch recordings.

   So, it must be whatever provides these apps remotely - a Humax server perhaps? Does anyone know how it works or able to help? Anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm in the South East - Hastings if that's any help?

   Btw, in SETTINGS the date is 01.01.1970, presumably because there's no TV time signal, but I haven't had a signal for two weeks and the apps mentioned have been working fine until today.

   Which box are you using ? Have you a smartphone ? If so can you select a Youtube video play it back and then connect the stream to your box using the small TV icon.

   It's a Freeview FVP-5000T and it's now working!

   It's really weird but searching for new software - nothing found - and powering it off again, seems to have got it working!?

   I've noticed that the iPlayer app doesn't appear until several seconds or a minute or two after the network is connected. Today it's taken over half-an-hour. I think it probably was a server issue, albeit temporary.

   My only source of internet is via the data on my mobile and its wifi hotspot facility. Everything in the house is connected this way and works.
   If I go out (and turn off the hotspot), obviously the 4000t recognises that there is no internet connection and flashes up the message. On my return my players list is always reduced to 6 icons but not always the same 6. Within a few seconds of the Humax reconnecting to the Hotspot, they all return.
   I am therefore of a mind that you have suffered a temporary loss of data, either wifi drop out or just data loss even though connected to your router?

   I still remain suprised that people rely on so called SMART TV's PVR's for their streaming apps. A dedicated streamer is much the best option as they are updated regularly and streaming is their primary function.

   My streamer of choice is the cheap but reliable Chromecast, followed by Apple TV. There are lots of others like Sky NOW etc.

   Best I have found is a 4K firestick (£25:00 previous Black Friday deal).
