    For info....

A reboot does not involve pulling the plug, just place unit into standby for a few minutes then on again.

For those still having problems with on demand/showcase try this.
Leave unit on a BBC HD channel for 30 minutes then reboot unit.
Let us know if this is successful or not for you.

I have tried this today, but still cannot access on demand / showcase as before.

Out of interest, where did this idea come from?
I have had no response as yet to my e-mail to Humax, and I have also e-mailed Freesat this morning.

I don't suppose anyones tried the reset file on the beta site to see if that helps ressolve the issue?

Download the HDR1000s file at the bottom and follow instructions http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/freeview-sd

The problem appears to relate to new boxes.

We shouldn't be jumping through hoops to get them to work.

Humax / Freesat have an obligation to customers who have paid their money for a product which should work straight out of the box.

The product I have does not work as described and as such has been mis-sold.

I tried apply the firmware update file and as far as I could tell the box made no attempt to actually apply it. I used a freshly formatted FAT32 USB stick and there were no messages to indicate any update taking place. I tried several times with the same outcome.

This relates to older boxes too, but yes it should be up to humax/freesat to come up with a fix.

Maybe the problem is related to a software update. Mine is running....

    Software UKSFAA 2.02.01
    Loader UKSFAA 1.08
    Update 02 SEP 2014
    MICOM UKSFAA 8.04.01

I received my email reply from Humax today as follows....

Thank you for contacting Humax Technical Support. I'm sorry that you are having issues with your Humax Box.

This is a known issue that has been affecting HDR1000s, HDR1010s and HB1000s users. I've forwarded the details to my manager and we are aware of the issue and working on it. We hope to have it resolved soon. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

One of the first things I did was update the firmware via the Internet hoping it would add the option to enter wifi settings for a hidden SSID. I've been in and out of settings so many times I don't remember if I tested the on demand before that or not. I'll try the 30 minute test later but if that doesn't work I'll get a replacement and start over. Alternatively, Is there a way to downgrade the firmware?
