I have a Humax hdr 1000s/1010s freesat. It suddenly lost all recordings and when you try and pause it states you cant record because timeshift buffering. We have changed to drive but still has the same problem. I cannot find a way to reformat the hard drive

    Have you power cycled it?

    We have changed to drive
    What does that mean?

I assume you changed the hard drive and that didn't fix the problem. This is a well known problem caused by a fault on the motherboard (exactly what the fault is isn't clear). It can be repaired at a cost of £69.95 (which includes carriage in both directions) and is no fix no fee. Normally the component problem symptom is the unit cannot see the hard drive at all.
